Course contents :  Course content varies in alternate years. In one format we look at the history of the Arab world from its beginnings through the 11th century, more or less; in the other, we look at the period from the 11th century through the 15th. The purpose is to provide an overview of the major events that occurred in the Arab world during the period under study, also emphasizing the elements most important in Islamic civilization.
