Course contents : The course marks out the context of exercise of the teacher and trainer profession in the French Community of Belgium.
Course objective : - Take note of the educational policies and the current organization of the education system in the French Community of Belgium.
- Understand and pose a critical glance on the school institution in the light of elements of near past and in relation to the evolution of the societal context.
- Explore the various fields of the formation and their specificity compared to teaching.
- Better identify spaces of freedom and action of the teachers and the trainers thanks to the analysis of the constraints and the texts of reference.
Prerequisites : For the first course, each student will get the Décret-missions.
Workshops : Carry out an exploratory interview with organizations belonging to one of the fields of the formation and orally present at their school-fellows the data collected and analyzed according to transversal questions.
Organization : The course is organized in three phases:

- The theoretical course : primarily centred on the educational system, it also gives large markers for the field of the formation.
- Interviews carried out in an institution belonging to one of the fields of the formation.
- Presentation of the results of the investigations and their collective analysis.
Written notes : A book will be available in January 2006.
Assessment : Written examination in two parts: an open book part (questions with long open answers) and a closed book part (questions with short answers, questions with truth or false answers).
