| Course contents :
| The course will be organized in five sections: a) Labour supply; b) Human capital investment; c) Labour demand; d) Internal markets and e) Miscellaneous: unions, labour conditions, job search models, discrimination. | |

| To give the student a complete view of the main economic theories that allow the understanding of the supply and demand behaviour in labour markets. | |

| Organization :
| Second semester The course is organized in two sessions each weak: Theory Monday 16-18 hrs Exercises: Thursday 11-12:30 hrs. Theories are generally illustrated with the help of graphs. Specific models are studied analytically and used as background for exercises. The students particularly interested in the field can take the course of Labour macroeconomics analysis as a complement. | |

| The main reference is "The economics of work and pay", Filer, K.F., Hammermesh D.S. et A.E. Rees (Harper Collins). [Chapters 7, 15 and 16 are not given and chapters 10, 11 and 12, partially]. The course is completed with some theoretical notes and an exercise brochure. | |

| Assessment :
| The final writing examination includes theoretical questions and problems covering all the material of the course. A mid-term examination is proposed, but participation is voluntary. | |
