2nd year of Master's degree in criminology, specialised approach4

Course contents : Its name points it out: social criminal law stands at the crossroad of two matters, social law and criminal law. The course is based on lectures as well as on the writing of a paper whose results will be orally explained by each student. The subjects of these papers are chosen in October. The papers must be written by the end of December, and are explained orally during the second semester.
Course objective : The course aims at making students familiar with the main issues of social criminal law by stressing its specificity with regard to the so- called civil sanctions on the one hand, and to common criminal law on the other hand. It also aims at making students familiar with real situations. At last, it provides the student with the opportunity to learn to express him/her-self in writing and orally.
Prerequisites : An introduction to social criminal law requires a sufficient knowledge of labour and social security law, as well as of criminal law.
Written notes : Syllabus: F. Kéfer, Droit pénal social, non-definitive
Assessment : The papers and the oral explanations of their results are marked and taken into consideration for the final grade.

Written exam with second chance oral exam.
