La participation aux cours est obligatoire (prise de présence).
Un examen oral d'une durée de 30 minutes est organisé en fin de formation : les étudiant·e·s sont évalué·e·s par l'équipe organisatrice de la formation facultaire, renforcée par certains membres de la Commission d'éthique animale de l'Université.
L'épreuve certificative vise à évaluer les acquis des étudiants par rapport aux cours reçus et en termes notamment d'application du principe des « 3 R » (Réduction, Raffinement, Remplacement). Le promoteur a par ailleurs obtenu du Service Public Fédéral Santé Publique, une reconnaissance légale du certificat délivré.
Le programme est en anglais, les cours sont donnés en langue française ou anglaise suivant les intervenant·e·s. Les supports sont en français et anglais. La liste des intervenant·e·s n'est pas figée, toute modification est cependant communiquée au Service Public Fédéral.

Horaire :
La formation catégorie C est un Certificat d'université d'une durée de 99h à l'Université de Liège, réparties à raison de 2 jours par semaine (traditionnellement de janvier à mars).
