PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Biomedical science is currently among the fastest growing sectors around the world, particularly in research and development. The aging of our society implies a massive demand for innovative technological solutions to provide better patient care and develop personalized medicine while keeping the health care system accessible and sustainable. The development and application of new therapeutic approaches, sometimes on a massive scale, such as those used to respond to the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, strongly mobilize the skills of engineers working in the health field.

Biomedical engineering specialists can be found in production, consulting, development and research. But compared to more traditional industrial sectors, the proportion of research and development engineers is much higher than that of production engineers. Innovation is indeed the key to the development of all activities in the healthcare field. It is therefore mainly in this field that the biomedical training of engineers takes on its full meaning.

A growing number of graduates are working in consulting positions in the hospital sector, in the public sector such as the health department, in positions of responsibility in R&D departments in medium and large companies and in spin-offs and start-ups. The interdisciplinary training in biomedical engineering also makes our engineers very appealing to a number of traditional companies that increasingly depend on innovative interdisciplinary solutions to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing technological environment.
