Learning unit contents

This formation consists in a theoretical part, a practical part and a personal production.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The objectives of this formation are to familiarize the student to pigs, to initiate him/her to restraint of pigs and to use additional diagnostic tools useful in the context of his/her research.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Knowledge delivered in Bachelor and Master of Veterinary Medicine are prerequisite knowledge to this lecture.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Theory will be delivered, followed by practicals (on dead animals, in the Skill Lab and/or in the piggery) specifically related to the research activities of the student. The personal production performed by the student will constitute a useful step to his/her doctoral training.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Theory and practicals are delivered in face-to-face.

Recommended or required readings

Notes will be provided to students. If needed, recommended readings will be adviced.

An evaluation of the knowledge-being, the knowledge and the know-how of each student will occur during the formation.
