Formulate a research question

Identify the most relevant study design to answer a research question

Conduct a structured review of the literature trought bibliographic databases (Medline, Scopus)

Be able to understand and interpret the results of a meta-analysis

Learn about the development and validation of questionnaires 

Be able to interpret certain epidemiological concepts such as the odd ratio or the risk ratio.

Critical analysis of scientific literature

Active and collaborative learning. Teachers give a lesson followed by a discussion with the students. The students systematically prepare a work with few slides to present to the class for the next lesson.

Students will attend 6 sessions of 2 hours each (=12 hours of class). 8 hours will be devoted to the preparation of the assignments.

Critical analysis of scientific literature

This course requires access to  Internet for preparatory work and to PowerPoint to prepare the slides for the work to be presented during the course and the final evaluation.

Additional information regarding the continuous evaluation: an assignment must be completed during the year. Before each class session, students will have to present the preparatory work they have done. Attention, penalty points in case of unjustified absence to these sessions.
