Learning unit contents
The course covers the fundamentals and practice of participatory approaches applied to health.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course the student is able to:
- Discuss the foundations of participatory approaches, their advantages and limitations in the management of health risks
- Develop a protocol for a health risk management problem
- Implement participatory interview techniques
- Analyze the results obtained and write a report

The lessons are organized as a fully dedicated to participatory approaches week. Class sessions, mixing short presentations, discussions, group work and exercises, interspersed with field work for fomrulation and implementation of a common first protocol to the whole class.

Recommended or required readings
The exam is oral and is based on a report prepared by the student, based on the field survey conducted with the class and its reflection on the applicability of these approaches to a theme of his choice (ideally the theme of the internship and master thesis).
