Learning unit contents
In this course, the student learns the rules and steps for writing a thesis in the various Master's degrees in economics (60,120).
On the basis of presentations, exchanges and research, the student progresses in the writing of the master thesis.
Finally, tools and programs are presented (Latex and the export of results from STATA to Word/Latex) to facilitate the writing of the thesis. A detailed analysis of a reference article from each of the students will also be analyzed and criticized.

If possible, an econometrics course or at least a course with work on the data

Oral presentations by the teacher with material support (slides + documents + STATA programs + abstract reports).
Oral presentations of the progress of each student's thesis.
Participation in the course can lead to a didactic trip to the "Journées de l'économie" in Lyon, France. Depending on the organization, this trip will be offered to students of the 2nd block of the Master in Economics. The number of students who can participate in the didactic trip depends on the available budget. In case of competition, students are selected through a letter of motivation.
The Journées de l'économie (or "Jéco") in Lyon are usually organized in November. They consist of three days of conferences and debates on many topics related to economics, with well-known speakers from the academic world, business and the French political scene. Round tables and meetings with foreign professionals and students are also an integral part of this trip. Students can therefore expand their horizons in economics, but also their social and professional network. They actively participate in these days. After the trip, the students have to write a 5 to 6 page report on the topics discussed and the experience they had.
