Learning unit contents

This course aims to help students in the first steps of their definition of master thesis and internship.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this unit, the student will be able to :
- define and explain the specificities of the master thesis and the internship related to his/her master's degree and his/her specialization;
- submit a thesis proposal adapted to the academic requirements and the specificities of his/her specialization;
- write a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter.

The course is composed of :

- four plenary sessions which attendance is mandatory;

- activities to be chosen from a proposed list

- two 'deliverables': the submission of a master thesis proposal validated by the specialization pilot and the submission of a curriculum vitae on the Career Center.

More specifically, the final grade will be computed as follows :


Attendance at mandatory plenary sessions:

- Introductory session: 2 points

- Career Center Session: 2 points

- Session by Specialization: 2 points

- Methodology/Research question Session : 2 points

 

Active participation in the Speed Meeting: 2 points

* if you are submit a research thesis, the Speed Meeting is not mandatory. In this case, the Methodology session is valued for 4 points.



Active participation in an activity of your choice among: 2 points

- the Journée de Préparation à l'embauche Q1

- the Career Day Q1

- the Journée de Préparation à l'embauche Q2

- the Career Night Q2

 

Active participation in one or more activities from a proposed list : (1 point per activity).

 


Submission or update of a curriculum vitae to the Career Center during the second quadrimester: 1 points

Submission of a master thesis proposal validated by the specialization pilot on MyThIn: 7 points.


Attention ! The delivery of the master thesis proposal is a fundamental element of this course. In case of failure in this part, the course will be failed and the student will get 2/20.

The activities are organized either in person or online. In both cases, face-to-face or remote, a presence control system will be put in place to decide whether or not to grant the corresponding point(s).
