Learning unit contents
The first part of the course is an introduction to principles, perspectives and objectives of linguistics, from the standpoint of its applications in the areas of acquisition, learning, and teaching of languages.
The second part presents contributions and debates in psycholinguistics and cognitive linguistics concerning acquisition, learning and teaching of languages, arriving at principles and options in the didactic of languages.
The third part is devoted to communicative and sociolinguistic conditions of acquisition, learning and teaching of languages, including context of use, norms and variants, and the status of a language and its functions, in particular in a plurilinguistic context.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Analyze critically with the participants the different theories and branches of applied linguistics on which foreign French language teaching rely for developing its teaching and training methods.
In this way, the participants are given the necessary linguistic foundation to develop their educational competences.

This course is an "oral" course, which involves:
- the interactions between the teacher and the students, and between the students during the course, go beyond memorizing syllabus and reading books for final evaluation;
- the active presence in the course in order to benefit from and participate in these exchanges is therefore essential;
- that the professor will develop the course based on student reactions or any other circumstances that he will consider significant during the course, so that the details of the final evaluation cannot be determined at the beginning.
