Learning unit contents

Cinema is both an art and an industry. The present course focuses on cinema as an industry. It consists of three parts:
- economic features of cinematographic and AV works;
- the market of cinema and AV works: historical survey, analysis of strategies;
- production: from the initial project to distribution, with particular attention to financing mechanisms illustrated through case studies.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The aim of the course is to help students understand how the market of the cinema and AV works functions and what the job of producer consists in.

None.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course includes a theoretical part and a practical part. The practical part of the course, devoted to case studies, requires students' active participation.

 

 

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

30 hours, first term. Face-to-face . Venue: place du XX Août, 7, séminaire cinéma (2nd floor)

There is no syllabus. Copies of the charts and tables are handed out to students.
