Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

Part 1 : Energy use and production in agriculture

Energy production and consumption in agriculture

Part 2 : Energy and biomass

Agriculture has become highly mechanized during ast 50 years, what resulted in a high fossil fuel consumption. The high cost of energy as well as profit margin decrease.
This course describes the major energy expenses item of mechanized agricultur.
The energetical aspects of cultural operations are detailed
Strategies to decrease energy cunsumption are presented

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Part 1 : Energy use and production in agriculture

./.

Part 2 : Energy and biomass

The objective is to offer students a global understanding of the operating parameters that influence enery consumption an the mean to act on it.
The offers an insight to present situation in this sector and global trends (energy classification scheme of tractors, low consumption drive,...)
After the course, the student must understand the energetical and technical issues in the field of agriculture mechanisation. He must be able to produce a bibliographical review on a specific topic and draw conclusions for future energetical policy.
