Learning unit contents

Partim - Plant Pathology (1 ECT):

This module describes various control methods against fungi, bacteria, and viruses that are suitable for urban environments. These methods rely on microorganisms, extracts from microorganisms or other organisms, and "soft" chemical control strategies. It also covers current plant protection legislation and explains how to implement these control measures.

A practical session dedicated to crop protection in soilless systems will introduce students to various control strategies and familiarize them with the "Phytoweb" tool. The session will conclude with the submission of a report.

 Partim - Entomology (1 ECT) :

Besides conventional methods in plant protection, a wide range of alternatives are being developed, more respectful of the environment and human health. Among them, biological control, semiochemical and physical approaches. These different methods will be presented, as for the part of their development and for their application.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Partim - Plant pathology (1ECT) :
1. To have a global vision of control methods suitable for the cities, 2. To be aware of the complexity of implementation of these systems, regarding  legislative constraints, 3. To acquire sufficient knowledge in order to implement these control methods,
