Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

This year, the course will focus on prosaism.

The concept of prosaism encompasses many aspects. The disparagement to which it has long been subjected has been counterbalanced by efforts to restore its reputation, undertaken by writers (Baudelaire, Flaubert), painters (Courbet) and philosophers (Merleau-Ponty) alike. Through this lens, the powers of poetry are now being examined in the United States and Latin America: does prosaic poetry not have its own effectiveness?

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

To introduce students to issues relating to the appreciation of artistic and cultural works; to encourage them to reflect on the theories underpinning this appreciation.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

The assignment must be submitted by a deadline announced in advance in the course materials on MyULiege. It must be submitted in Word AND PDF format by emailing it to semir.badir@uliege.be.
