Learning unit contents

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the many educational and cultural activities carried out at the museum. In addition to a theoretical approach to the issues involved (cultural and artistic education, public participation, event programming, etc.), students will be invited to implement their own activities throughout the course.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The course is designed to enable students to identify the issues specific to educational activities and cultural programming within museums.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

A good knowledge of the museum world is important.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Course sessions will mainly take the form of group work to design the planned educational and cultural activity, sometimes supported by theoretical points and readings of scientific texts. Objectives adapted to the progress of each group will be identified from one session to the next.

The assessment takes place in two parts :

- The presentation of an analytical piece on a topic of the student's choice relating to educational activities in museums (50%)
The submission of an individual portfolio on a topic of the student's choice relating to educational activities in museums (50%)
