Learning unit contents
The 'Law and Art' course is organised as a seminar designed to study how certain artistic works can offer a vision of the legal phenomenon (or an aspect of it) that is particularly intructive for the lawyer himself. Each year, students will analyse a particular or several art form(s), author(s) or work(s).
The 2026-2027 course will focus on the study of literary and cinematic representations of events from the Fascist period in Italy (the exile of opponents of Mussolini's regime, the racial laws and the motivations behind support for Fascism), through a number of novels and their respective film adaptations, including :
- Le Christ s'est arrêté à Eboli by Carlo Levi and its film adaptation by Francesco Rosi ;
- Le Jardin des Finzi-Contini by Giorgio Bassani and its film adaptation by Vittorio De Sica ;
- Le Conformiste by Alberto Moravia and its film adaptation by Bernardo Bertolucci.
