1) Risk and crisis management - core module (50h of lectures in semester 2)
Theory and concepts of crisis management and emergency planning ¿ Crisis management ¿ The actors ¿ Planning and prevention ¿ Preventive measures during high-risk events and mass gatherings ¿ Crisis communication ¿ Simulation exercises.

2) Lecture series (5h of lectures in semester 1)

3) Territorial resilience (32h of lectures in semester 1)
Regional resilience strategy: issues and applications ¿ Tools and methods to diagnose vulnerabilities ¿ Use of media in crisis management / resilient reconstruction ¿ Informal community self-organisation in situations of crisis / reconstruction ¿ Operationalisation and regional resilience on a local level (practical work).

4) Technological risks (48h of lectures in semester 2)

5) Multidisciplinary management of exceptional situations (54h of lectures in semester 2)
Module 1: the principle of emergency medical assistance (AMU) in Belgium, the emergency centre emergency number (CS112), the organisation of medical assistance in collective emergency situations. Module 2: victim traceability, specific police procedures, securing the advanced medical post (PMA) in terrorist situations - Module 3: pandemic planning, emergency airport plans, collective intoxications, humanitarian aid and natural disasters - Module 4: nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical risks (NRBC), individual psychological reactions. Identification of victims - Module 5: role of the emergency rapid response unit (SMUR), the concept of the advanced medical post (PMA), on site triage and PMA triage, managing evacuations, medical intervention plan (PIM) and Maxipim - Module 6: dealing with multiple burn victims and the Belgian Association for Burns Injuries (BABI) plan, TECC teams, polytraumas.

6) National crisis management and international aspects (60h of lectures in semester 2)
In-depth introduction to national crisis management in Belgium: (A) existing legislation and emergency plans, (B) the various sectoral authorities, (C) risks that could lead to federal coordination.
