Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

In consultation with the internship coordinator, the student submits a proposal for an internship, clearly defining its objectives.

The internship may also be integrated into the master's thesis, in order to better prepare for a career as a young scientist (PhD studies) and to carry out thesis work that is (1) more in-depth and based on climate modeling and/or (2) requires substantial data collection and/or (3) involves a stay abroad.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Acquisition of professional or scientific skills different from those provided by the master's program.

Preparation for professional life.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Course materials and recommended or required readings

Continuous assessment

Further information:

If the internship is separate from the thesis: The evaluation form (see course material) must be provided to the internship supervisor and then sent to the internship coordinator.

If the internship is integrated into the thesis, the evaluation of the internship will be conditional on the evaluation of the thesis.

Work placement(s)

All internships must include an agreement and a risk analysis (standard models under course material).

There are different model agreements drafted by the legal department, depending on the situation.

The legal department's templates of ULiège must be used as a priority. If not available, the internship host institution's agreement may be used, but only after being reviewed by the legal department.

All the information concerning the procedure for internships and stays abroad is on the mySciences website, at:

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course

This 6-credit internship represents ~180 hours of work (~6 weeks of 4 days).

If, as part of this internship, the internship supervisor requests a report, the duration of the internship will be reduced by the time required to write the requested report.

The student must submit a written feedback on the internship to the internship coordinator. A report template is included in the course materials.
