Learning unit contents
1. General objectives
The course will develop the concepts studied in the first module (Advances in Cardiovascular Biology I) using scientific articles as starting points.
The students will be asked to present some articles chosen in the first part of the course as a journal club. They will be asked to focus particularly on the methodology, using a critical analysis, and to summarize the main results that might be useful to understand or to develop the concepts studied.
The articles will also be used to evaluate the classicalexperimental models used in cardiology research, and to review the usual clinical studies found in medical publications.
2. Specific objectives
Using specialized articles as examples, each course will focus on specific ways to analyze scientific articles and to redact articles.
1. Structure of scientific articles.
2. How to describe the methodology?
3. Which figure for which data?
4. Limitations.
5. How to criticize an article?
6. ....
