Learning unit contents
40-hour teaching internship with supervision; in parallel, professional training workshops, up to 21 hours.
Teaching internship:
During the teaching internship, students will design and implement learning activities in the field of performing arts/broadcasting and communication techniques.
Students are required to produce detailed lesson plans in accordance with the expectations set out in the teaching unit dedicated to disciplinary didactics. They will also be involved in the daily life of the school by participating in "outside the classroom" activities such as school trips, parent meetings, training sessions, etc.
Where possible, this internship will take place in at least two different classes. This will enable students to broaden their professional experience. As a reminder, this internship is also linked to the teaching unit 'Facettes collégiales du métier' (collegial aspects of the profession). It must therefore be carried out over a longer period.
Professional training workshops:
Organised into disciplinary or interdisciplinary groups, AFPs aim to develop students' reflective skills before, during, or after an internship.
One AFP session will be devoted to self-heteroscopy. Students will therefore be required to make a video during their internship and obtain the necessary authorisations to do so. A document containing detailed information will be provided to students on eCampus.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of this teaching unit, students will be able to:
- use methods for observing and analysing teaching practices;
- design and lead teaching sequences in the field covered by subject-specific teaching methods in a school environment, under the supervision of a teaching mentor.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Successful completion of the teaching unit Internship (part I) is required for the teaching unit Internship (part II) to proceed properly.
In addition, students undertake to comply with the Charter provided by CEFEN, which they must sign at the beginning of the academic year. The internship agreement may be terminated in the event of non-compliance with this Charter.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching practices, discovery and participation in the life of a school in its various dimensions.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Face-to-face course
Course materials and recommended or required readings
Platform(s) used for course materials:
- eCampus
Written work / report
Continuous assessment
Further information:
Teaching internships will be assessed on the basis of a visit to the internship and on the completion of an integrated assessment coupled with the internship report. The assessment grids will be available on eCampus.
Students will not be allowed to present their internship if their preparation has not been validated in advance during a meeting with the training assistant.
The internship supervision carried out by the General Didactics team can take two forms: an in-person visit to the classroom or an analysis of the lesson based on a video made by the student. At the end of the internship, students must submit a self-assessment report. A document containing detailed information will be provided to students on eCampus.
Due to the nature of the internship, which requires fieldwork during the academic year, it is not possible to organise a second assessment in August if a student is found to be unsatisfactory.
Any critical incident during an internship (breach of professional ethics, failure to inform the internship supervisor of preparations in good time, serious negligence, etc.) will result in a fail mark.
Participation in AFPs is compulsory. Except in cases of force majeure assessed by the course leaders, two absences (whether justified or not) will result in a mark of absence for the AFPs.
Grades communicated via the eCampus grade book are provided for information purposes only, pending deliberation.
