Drug design

This course covers the different stages of the design and production of biopharmaceuticals, with a particular focus on monoclonal antibodies and novel siRNA-based therapies. It addresses screening techniques, molecular modeling, rational drug design, studies of target interactions, as well as the production of recombinant proteins and the purification of monoclonal antibodies.

Innovative approaches currently being investigated for the development of new medicines will also be discussed.

Drug design

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Explain the key steps involved in the design and production of biopharmaceuticals.
2. Describe the fundamental principles of monoclonal antibodies and siRNA-based therapies.
3. Apply concepts of screening, molecular modeling, and rational drug design to practical examples.
4. Understand the processes of recombinant protein production and monoclonal antibody purification.
5. Critically analyze innovative approaches currently being investigated in drug development.
