Learning unit contents

The course is taught in 5 lessons of 2 hours
- Course 1: Introduction to Intensive Care - Course 2: Circulatory and respiratory insufficiencies - Course 3: Severe infections, acute blood and endothelial failures, oncological patients in intensive care - Course 4: ethical and prognostic aspects of the comatose patient, the law on the rights of patients in intensive care, hospital mediation. - Course 5: pain management, assessment of quality of care and patient safety in intensive care, and follow-up after intensive care.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The educational objectives of the course are: * Understand what intensive care is:   - History   - Legal aspects    - Types of patients welcomed there   - Where, when, how and by whom they are taken care of (material and human resources required) * Know the practical aspects of monitoring patients in intensive care * Know how to identify signs of seriousness during organ failure * Know the main principles of managing organ failure * Understand and know how to discuss ethical issues and the rights of patients admitted to intensive care * Know and know how to approach the care of patients after their stay in intensive care * Know how to assess the quality and ensure the safety of intensive care patient care

Half a day of observation in intensive care is organized during Master 2 Q1 A non-obligatory one-month internship in intensive care is available in the Master 3 internship plan
