Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

Reading, translation, and analysis of a Greek literary text (with attention to grammar, literature, and historical context).

Following a general introduction to the author and the work, students will be responsible each week for preparing a passage to be read, translated, and discussed in class.

In the 2025-2026 academic year, the course will be devoted to selected passages from Homer's Iliad.

Linguistic training, illustrating the main literary genres as well as Greek civilisation and stimulating the reading of Greek authors.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Very good knowledge of Ancient Greek.

 

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Personal preparation is required each week.
