Learning unit contents

In 2025, the museology seminar will focus on the biography of museum objects. The aim is to reflect on the status of the museum object and the way in which museology researchers have reported on the history of objects, their provenance, their exhibitions, etc. This theme echoes many contemporary museum questions, notably around provenance research and restitution practices.

The seminar will draw on the reflections of the lecturer on this theme, as well as the contributions of two female museology researchers who will accompany him: Camille Béguin, post-doctoral fellow at the Université de Liège, and Marion Bertin, post-doctoral fellow at UCL.

The sessions will be the subject of debate and discussion between students and teachers. Interventions by museum researchers and professionals are also envisaged. The final program will be announced at the beginning of the semester.
