Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course includes a general introduction to the history of prehistoric research and focuses on the objectives and methods of archaeological research. Following a chronological perspective, the course begins with human origins and the different factors (environmental, anatomic, technological, cultural) that influenced human evolution. The course then develops the study of the different hunter-gatherer societies during the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods.

Further information:
Mid-term written multiple-choice exam in January (on the content of first-term lectures). The mark of the midterm exam in January will count for 20% of the June final mark if > or = 10/20. The mark will have no effect on the final grade if it doesn't reach 10/20 and the final exam will then be cumulative.
Written exam (open questions) during the June session for the part of the lectures.
The skills acquired during the practical work are subject to an oral assessment in June, the result of which is integrated (20%) with the mark of the written exam on the lectures.
