Learning unit contents
This course aims to introduce basic theoretical concepts that will enable students to understand the epistemological elements of physical and sports activities (PSA). The course content focuses on defining concepts that are important to them, such as "physical activity," "sport," and "physical education." It is important to analyze students' perceptions and help them better integrate into a field they only know as users. To broaden their horizons and make them aware of the diversity of professions related to motor sciences and the coherence of the course program offered to them, other chapters will be covered: presentation of APS professions, organization of APS, evolution of sport, analysis of the Olympic movement and sports markets, and the place of APS in society.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course should enable students to better understand the purpose of their studies and help them develop a well-structured career plan. By the end of the course, they should be able to identify the role of motor skills specialists in society and address the major issues currently facing sport (in the broadest sense of the term). This course should also help them improve their oral and written communication skills.
