Learning unit contents

This course focuses exclusively on theory. It covers the basics of sports management and enables students to acquire the knowledge they will need during the following year and in their internships. Several topics are covered :

  • Review of concepts related to the organization of physical and sports activities; - Analysis of the components of effective management ;
  • Characteristics of the three main types of sports organizations (events, infrastructure, associations).

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

  • Introduce the principles of management ;
  • Make students aware of the components of effective management ;
  • Enable students to clearly identify the structures of sport ;
  • Provide the basics of management principles for various types of sports organizations.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

  • Upstream: Concepts of physical education (Block 1 SM), topics covered in practical physical education classes.
 

  • Downstream: Part II of the same course (Block MASTER 1).

Ex-cathedra teaching, exercises and seminars.

The theoretical course is given in the first semester. It is a face-to-face course for which attendance is mandatory due to the exercises carried out in class. Further information will be provided to students as soon as the course schedule and classrooms are known.
