Learning unit contents

Introduction to the study of man in society : analysis of contemporary society and its history (spatial, socioeconomic, cultural system and personality systems) using major sociological trends and concepts, highlighting their link with the disciplines of architecture and town planning.

Spheres of life and construction of the person:
psychosocial aspects of childhood, adolescence and ageing, highlighting the role of domestic, semi-public and urban spheres. The course will also raise awareness of learning, command, negotiation and inventiveness of town planning rules.

The psychology and sociology classes aim to provide a better understanding of people, the complexity of collective living, and the social dynamics of contemporary society. The classes also aim to incite reflexive practice in such a way as to develop an architectural response which takes into account human, social and ethical challenges.
