Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The content will focus on the cognitive determinants of learning (memory, attention, executive functions, metacognition) in an education context. This content will aim to help students understand the nature of the cognitive processes involved in educational activities and raise their awareness of the diversity of cognitive profiles among learners (including those with learning difficulties and disorders). This will enable them to engage in a reflective approach regarding the educational strategies implemented in the school context.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

This course will focus on four learning outcomes:

  • Knowing and understanding the cognitive determinants and processes involved in learning (memory, executive functions, metacognition) in a school context.
  • Establishing connections between knowledge of cognitive processes and educational activities.
  • Being aware of the diversity of cognitive profiles among learners (including those with learning difficulties and disorders).
  • Fostering a reflective approach to the educational strategies implemented in a school context.

These learning outcomes contribute to the development of competencies for organizing and supporting learning in an evolving dynamic, particularly: "mastering knowledge related to learning processes (3b)."
