Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The application of knowledge gained from the Masters 1 course "Consecutive Interpretation from English into French" and "Simultaneous interpretation from English to French". Acquisition of vocabulary and terminology specific to the sectors that usually use liaison interpretation (accompaniment of delegations, diplomatic and trade missions).
Practical exercises based on speeches prepared and delivered by the teacher or the students as well as recorded speeches. Note taking and public speaking exercises as well as behavioral skills in different types of missions where liaison interpretation is necessary.

At the end of the course, students will be able to understand how liaison interpretation works in diplomatic or trade missions and to provide high-level liaison interpretation in French and English in the appropriate register.

In-depth understanding of the different types of English (British, American, and others...). Strong command of the French language. In-depth understanding and command of English (passive and active).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Students are required to regularly follow subjects of general interest and current affairs through the different media (TV, Internet, press in French and English), as well as study the vocabulary and terminology of different fields at home. Simulation of missions and liaison interpreting scenarios in class and when possible in real life situations. Comments on the individual performance of the students.

Simulation of missions and liaison interpreting scenarios in class and when possible in real life situations. Comments on the individual performance of the students. Simulation of online events also possible.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Hybrid. Compulsory face-to-face lessons taught in the interpreting room at Rue de Pitteurs 20. Some lessons will also be taught remotely. This will be an opportunity for the students to get used to working online. Some lessons could take place outdoors to simulate group visits with interpretation.
