Learning unit contents

The course focuses on the sources of obligations, essentially extra-contractual liability (torts) and legal acts.

The study of extra-contractual liability, as governed by Book 6 of the Civil Code, begins with a study of liability for personal fault. This is followed by a study of complex forms of extra-contractual liability relating to things and animals. It often happens that there is more than one person liable for the same damage.

The study ol legal acts, as governed by Book 5 of the Civil Code, begins with an overview of unilateral legal acts. This is followed by an analysis of the legal regime governing contracts. A distinction is made between the formation of a contract and its (non-)performance.
