Learning unit contents
The course addresses psycho-clinical intervention in institutions that deal with children and adolescents in mental suffering. Students will be introduced to the institutional reality in Belgium and to the various types of interventions that are held.
The analysis will be conducted first according to the different types of institutions and then according to the different populations and/or disorders. Particular attention will be given to the clinical aspects of inpatient care.
An external speaker will intervene to provide an insider's view of the issues discussed during the course.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the semester, students will be able to project themselves into the work of a clinical psychologist in an institution, to plan an intervention and to assume a specific role, depending on the type of institution, the type of population and the type of disorder.

The courses will alternate between periods of theoretical acquisition and more interactive ones.
These will take the form of clinical case discussions and/or intervention planning exercises and/or sharing of internship experiences.
