Learning unit contents
This course is intended to: 1) review methods and tools for assessing family and couple functioning, and 2) introduce intervention strategies and techniques drawn from the main approaches of family and couple therapy.
Practical work and discussions will be proposed to stimulate reflection on the use, strengths, and limitations of the tools and methods presented.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of my course, students should be able to:
- gain a basic knowledge of the leading family and couple assessment approaches and instruments;
- gain a basic knowledge of the leading family and couple intervention techniques;
- administer family assessment tools and interpret and integrate the results in a written report.

Written work / report
Additional information:
The work consists of am individual written report, the evaluation of which will determine the grade for this course. The report will be based on a family assessment exercise and the administration of the tools and instruments presented during the course. Full details will be provided during the first weeks of the course.
