Learning unit contents

French-German consecutive interpretation II

Using consecutive interpreting exercises, we will build on the foundations laid in MA1 to move on to more specialised and longer speeches.

Liaison interpreting

Interpreting exercises to link FR<>DE. We will start with short interviews and then move on to longer, more specialised ones. The topics will be based on real needs in liaison interpreting.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

French-German consecutive interpretation II

The focus will be on good analysis and appropriation of the speech, mastery of note-taking and faithful, authentic and fluent reproduction of the source text in German ((idiomatic) expressions, wealth of terminology, grammar). Perseverance is key as well as memorisation.
