Learning unit contents
We are living in a world which is becoming more and more digital. Possessing IT skills is necessary for manager in today business environment.
This course has the following objectives:
- The basic concepts of programming language and databases;
- The development of web application (HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL);
- The Excel part is composed of: basic usage, address, functions, graphs, and data analysis
- The development of the project which is related to management.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
After this course, students will have developed different knowledge and skills:
- have acquired the basics of programming and databases, in particular, web programming (HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL) in particular.
- have aquired fundamental knowledge of Excel allowing students to use appropriate tools for particular needs and provide optimal solution for a particular problems.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Usage of a computer and standard software (operating system, mailing software, browser, office suite).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- The basis are explains trough examples.
- Students have to solve exercicses and these are available on LOl@.
- Students are invited to form groups of 5 students for the development of a project. It is scored.
- An example with the same level as the project, is seen in the lessons and must be used for the project

Additional information:
- Both theoretical and practical lessons are given in person.
- The use of a personal computer is recommanded during the lessons.
- Follow up sessions are offered to students who have difficulty in the development of the project.

Final Exam: 15 marks (on 20)
- On paper for programmation and databases part : 10 marks
- On computer for Excel : 5 marks
- In the event of a score greater than or equal to 60% in either part, a partial exemption from that part may be granted for the second session, at the student's request.
Project: 5 marks (on 20)
- groups of 5 students
- the project must be submitted on LOl@ for a specific date given at the beginning of the course
- the project note is kept in the second session with no possibility of improving it
- the example seen in the course must be used as the basis for the project
- the project instructions, available on LOl@, include cases which generate a zero for the group or for one or more members of the group
