Learning unit contents

The course presents the range of methods that is available today for prehistoric archaeology. We start with raw data and through analysis, we give such data anthropological significance. Natural sciences, like those relating to technology and ethnography, are also presented in order to reconstruct the ways of life of prehistoric societies.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The course consists of an introduction the methods of prehistoric archaeology (e.g., dating, typology, technology, use-wear analysis, archaeozoology).

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Course with physical presence.
Duration and period: 30h + reading assignments, 1st term.
Classroom and schedule: Prehistory Museum(building A4), Tuesday, 2-4 pm.

Recommended or required readings

A bibliography of the main reference works is distributed at the beginning of the year.

Online oral examination. Exam session in January.
