It is a detailed introduction to various aspects of this research area such as biostratigraphic methods and taxonomy of spores and cryptospores. The main chapters of the course are:

*Introduction

*Sampling strategy.

*Systematic - Part I(Cryptospore tetrads)
*Systematic - Part II(Cryptospore dyads)
*Systematic - Part III(Cryptospore monads)
*Systematic - Part IV(Silurian to Devonian trilete spores)
*Biostratigraphy - Part I(Ordovician - Sil/Dev)
*Biostratigraphy - Part II(Devonian)
*Production & dispersal (Generalities)
*Biodiveristy, palaeoecology, palaeogeography (Miospores)
*Biodiveristy, palaeoecology, palaeogeography (Megaspores)
*New Devonian palynological data from NW Gondwana
*Conclusion
