Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This introduction to comparative law vows to accoint students to teachings flowing from legal comparatism. In the first place, it favours a distance in regard of their native national system and endeavours to emphasize the singularity of the latter among the different legal systems in the world.

The course consists of 36 hours for students who must follow both partims and 30 hours for those who follow only the first partim.
Classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays at the beginning of the four-month period, then only on Thursdays.

The beginning of the course is based on the MOOC "The Romans, a people of jurists: introduction to Roman law.
Students must view the first three modules that are essential to the proper understanding of the course.
Even though the MOOC is in French, an English translation of the transcript of the 3 first modules is provided on the platform.
