Learning unit contents
Historical texts chosen according to the interests of the participants. The texts will be translated by students; translations produced will be discussed and corrected by the entire class (with emphasis on understanding of the German text). Grammar (and syntax, etc.) will be reviewed as necessary.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of this course, students must be able to understand and accurately translate an original text. To achieve this objective, students must learn the main syntactical structures of German and acquire the techniques to analyse complex sentences.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Students must have at least reached the level of the course in Translation and Explanation of Historical Texts: German I.

Additional information:
Written exam : translation of a text in German, not taught during the year. Dictionnaries and grammar are allowed.
June session.
The mark of the midterm exam in January will count for 10% of the June final mark if > or = 10/20 (the mark will have no effect on the final grade if it doesn't reach 10/20). Please note that the final exam for this course is cumulative.
