Learning unit contents

This multi-teacher class provides an introduction into the main concepts that define cognitive neurosciences, by presenting a broad panorama of the theoretical questions and the methods of this research discipline. The class privileges a multidisciplinary approach that characterizes cognitive neurosciences, and considers the interactions between brain and cognition both in healthy and brain injured populations. 
The following domains will be covered:
Visual cognition
Language
Working memory
Attention
Long-term episodic and semantic memory
Cognitive control
Social cognition and decision taking
Consciousness

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The student will get familiarized with the main topics and methodologies of cognitive neurosciences.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Cognitive psychology, cognitive neuropsychology, physiology of the nervous system
