This course is in the continuation of the course APPR1001-1 (taught as part of the Bachelors programme).

The issues covered in this course, which is taught as part the Masters programme, focus on the following topics:

  • research tools and (advanced) methodology in researching information in motor sciences, both directed towards the professional practice and/or to scientific research;
  • information monitoring.

ANOVA-I and ANOVA for repeated measures

Appropriate use of questionnaires

The objectives of this course are :
- to explain the importance of using assessment tools;
- to know the main tools (questionnaires) useful for physiotherapists;
- to be able to use and interprete the results of the questionnaires;
- to master the concept of "psychometric properties" of an assessment tool.
 

Evidence Based Practice

The objective of this course is to provide the student with elements required to critically appraise the scientific data of his future professional activities, and his end of study work.

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • independently research - within the materials covered in class and using the most efficient research strategies - relevant scientific documentation and information requiring a "high level of proof";
  • monitor their information.

The course assessment (written exam) will take place according to the Faculty calendar. The assessment will evaluate the knowledge and skills covered during the course (see Learning Outcomes).
