Learning unit contents

Introduction : Egyptian language, different writing systems, the hieroglyphic system - Study of the non-verbal elements - Syntax of the non verbal predicates - General overview of the verbal system

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Study of the hieroglyphic writing system, of the non-verbal elements of speech, and of the non-verbal predicates. Linguistic introduction to the verbal predication.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

A good knowledge of his/her native language.

Written and oral exam in May/June.
The mark of the midterm exam in January will count for 10% of the June final grade if > or = 10/20 (the mark will have no effect on the final grade if it doesn't reach 10/20). Please note that the final exam for this course is cumulative.
