Learning unit contents
The course is composed of 3 modules:
- Module 1: discussion based on a reading file composed of newspaper articles and one published study;
- Module 2: pronunciation (including stress, prosody and fluency);
- Module 3: summarising a video.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
- Improvng one's pronunciation;
- Being able to produce a written summary of a video;
- Being able to summarize and discuss chosen and prepared texts.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
A working knowledge of everyday English (end of secondary school level), i.e. the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Students who haven't reached that level must bring their English back up to level on their own.

The final grades .../20 is calculated as follows:
Module 2 (50%) : summary of a video assessed on content, structure, vocabulary and grammar.
Module 3 (10%) : pronunciation assessed through the student's reading out a chosen text.
Module 4 (40%) : discussion on the basis of a reading file prepared by the student.
The reading file must be submitted on time to be allowed to take the oral exam.
