Learning unit contents
This training provides students with a broad insight on the roles, responsibilities and skills of a manager. Students will get an overview on four major management models, and the task of the manager which encompasses a different role each time. We will highlight the paradoxes of various roles or expectations that a manager might experience. Organizations are expecting from their managers to be adaptable and flexible, but also to stabilize and control organizational structure. By the meantime, organizations request an emphasis on the value of their human resources (wellbeing), but also place a premium on efficiency, performance and goal-setting.
This training will also provide students with a broad understanding on major differences between "management" and "leadership" by focusing on the importance of behavioral skills and emotional intelligence. Even if the leadership concept is less tangible than the management one, its development is becoming a strategic priority for most of the company today, which are facing major VUCA challenges.
