This course contains 2 parts: Part A concerns X-ray powder diffraction techniques, and Partim B concerns single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques.
Part A
This course contains 4 chapters:
1. Production of X-rays
2. The structure factor
3. Symmetry
4. The powder technique
Part B
This course contains 4 chapters, and follows the basics of X-ray diffraction lectures:
1. The reciprocal lattice and the Ewald sphere
2. The rotation camera
3. The Weissenberg technique
4. The 4-circle diffractometer

The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the main tool of the Mineralogist: X-ray diffraction techniques.
