The lecture includes all aspects related to geological risk : hazards, vulnerability, disaster response, risk mitigation...
applied to earthquakes, mass movements, volcanic ... with focus on hazard coupling mechanisms.
Both scientific and socio-economic aspects are considered.

The goal is to understand the coupling between hazards as well as the link between hazard and risk.

This course contributes to the learning outcomes I.2, II.1, III.2, IV.3, IV.4, IV.5, V.2, VII.1, VII.2, VII.4, VII.5 of the MSc in geological and mining engineering.

2 field days related to Liege microzonation in 2021-22.

For the lecture with 5 ECTS points:

EQ's, landslides and volcanoes in/near Sicily, trip in May 2022.


Then, lectures will be given in 2023-24, 2025-26, ... with a trip to Sicily.

3 seismological and geomorphological field days (with geophysics) in Sicile,

in 2021-22.
