Learning unit contents
The course will present general principles of the evolution of genetic networks regulating development. Case stories will be presented by invited speakers from plant and animal fields.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of the course is to bridge Evolutionary and Developmental Biology.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Basic knowledge in Developmental Biology, including Embryology. Corequired courses : BIOL0011 and BIOL0012.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is organized in 2-hour periods. One or two lessons will be devoted to general principles of the evolutionary processes leading to diversification in morphogenesis and development in living organisms. Students will then attend conferences by invited speakers.
