Learning unit contents
This course aims to guide into the stages of the research process required to write the dissertation for a master's degree.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Objectives of the learning unit:
- Defining the requirements of social science research and of Master dissertation in particular
- Informing about the material and human resources within FaSS
- Helping to elaborate the research process and establish a work schedule
- Strengthening general skills required (ethnographic fieldwork, bibliographical research, problematization, analysis, dissertation, ...)
- Enabling exchanges about potential difficulties
- Encouranging emulation

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Research initiation sessions.
Participative sessions: monitoring of project construction and of research progress, including formative written compositions.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Sessions are organised according to a schedule that follows the progress of the research and its deadlines. In the first part of the year, frequent sessions aim to provide all the necessary tools to begin the research. After january, the sessions are less frequent and aim to monitoring the research progress. The sessions are compulsory (the requirements laid out must be respected).
